So this handsome little man is turning one this weekend—
—So I wanted to make him a birthday card that’s just as cute as he is (or at least try)!
- Fun letter stickers & colored card stock (from Michaels)
- Cricut Mini™ Machine
- Scotch Permanent Glue Stick (I use it for all my cards & crafts – it works wonders!)
- White curling ribbon
I’ve been having a lot of fun making greeting cards lately thanks to the Cricut Mini™ that I got for Christmas. I’m still learning the ropes and only have two cartridges, but I was able to make simple cutouts for this card using the “Cricut Font and Basic Shapes” in Cricut Craft Room®.
Trick: As much as I love spending $40 on each Cricut cartridge, I passed on buying a birthday cartridge for this project. Instead, I made a simple balloon shape using a circle and a triangle and welding them together (this means the machine will cut it as one piece). See picture for reference. I did the same thing for the number one. I welded a small rectangle onto the bottom of the 1 to make feet.
I added some star stickers to the number balloon and glued on ribbon to make balloon strings.
